Managing Director, Break New Ground Pty Ltd Director
Linda brings extensive experience in governance, strategic planning and project management to the Cherish Women’s Cancer Foundation. She began her career in the Queensland and Australian Governments, progressing to executive roles overseeing major national policies and multi‑million‑dollar projects. Since 2002, she has owned and led several successful businesses across the civil construction, resources and hospitality sectors, growing multiple companies from inception to annual turnovers exceeding $10 million.
Through her consultancy, Break New Ground Pty Ltd, Linda provides project management and engineering services to the civil construction and resources industries, managing complex projects and budgets of $10–$30 million. Her background across government and private enterprise has shaped strong expertise in governance, financial management, compliance, stakeholder engagement and leading diverse teams in high‑pressure environments.
Linda’s commitment to community advocacy began early through her involvement with The Wilderness Society during major national conservation campaigns. She later led large‑scale fundraising events as President of a school committee, developing event structures and systems that now underpin Cherish’s Brisbane and Gold Coast fundraising programs.
Linda’s connection to Cherish began through her close friend and fellow Director, Nikki Frame, whose experience with cervical cancer inspired her involvement. Together, they have supported Cherish’s community initiatives, including the inaugural Everest Base Camp Trek, and have played a central role in building Cherish’s major events into significant fundraising and engagement platforms.
Since joining the Board in 2021 — following active volunteering since 2018 — Linda has focused on strengthening Cherish’s event programs, establishing professional, sustainable structures that support fundraising, awareness and community connection. She remains deeply committed to advancing gynaecological cancer research and improving outcomes for women and families.
