Dr Andrea Garrett is a Certified Gynaecologic Oncologist and is currently the Deputy Director  at Queensland Trophoblast Centre (QTC) and Secretary of the International Society for the Study of Trophoblastic Diseases (ISSTD).

Dr Garrett practices as Gynaecologic Oncologist in Brisbane. She has a special interest in Gestational Trophoblastic Disease and established the Queensland Trophoblast Centre. She is well known in this filed in international circles. She has published several articles and reviews publications on this topic.

Dr Garrett’s medical expertise includes participation as principal and associate investigator for several national and international trials managed by the Queensland Centre for Gynaecologic Cancer. She joined the Cherish Board in 2024 and supports the foundations fundraising activities including attendance and supporting events and participating in national and international Treks raising significant funds.

Andrea has engaged in community fundraising events with Cherish, CanToo and Women of Inspiration charities. She has spoken at various community education forums. She has been on advisory panels for the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG), Cancer Australia, International Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FIGO) with expertise in the area of gynaecological cancer and gestational trophoblastic disease.

She has mentored medical students, trainees and specialists in clinical skills and research projects related to gynaecological cancer care.

Andrea’s mission is to help influence the outcome of women diagnosed with a gynaecologic malignancy. She hopes to improve their journey with care and compassion by offering excellent clinical and surgical care, which has been supported by up-to-date research. She hopes to mentor the next generation of gynaecologic oncologists in continuing to advocate for women diagnosed with gynaecologic cancer.
