Anthea Barry

Director

Anthea is Advancement Manager in the Faculty of Science at The University of Queensland. With a background in relationship-driven philanthropy spanning 20 years, she has created and led engagement initiatives as part of highly successful comprehensive campaigns at two of Australia’s leading universities, and now works as part of a small team raising $5M+ per year for research and student initiatives across science, including environmental conservation, animal welfare, food security and health. She brings expertise in fundraising, strategic planning and community engagement with a long-term focus.

She is also a volunteer ‘Pyjama Angel’ with the Pyjama Foundation, a Brisbane-based organisation providing children and teens in foster care the best opportunity to reach their life potential.

Anthea believes that philanthropy has the power to transform. At Cherish, seeing the impact of clinical trials through the personal stories of so many incredibly brave women and their families speaks to why this research – and continued support for it – is so critical. Connecting philanthropists with the opportunity to have this kind of impact in partnership with our amazing researchers is a real privilege.
