On Boxing Day of 2023, Linda sadly passed away after a courageous nearly five-year battle with ovarian cancer. Born in Edinburgh, Linda moved to Australia at the age of 16 with her mother and two brothers where she lived in Adelaide and Sydney before settling down in Brisbane with her husband to raise their three children. Among her many loves, Linda cherished her time with her family and friends, finding joy in cooking for them or enjoying a lovely meal out together.
In honour of their vibrant and beloved mum, the family are hosting the inaugural Linda’s Long Lunch in November. Funds raised will support Cherish Women’s Cancer Foundation to create awareness and find kinder, gentler treatments for women and girls with gynaecological cancer. This cause is especially meaningful to the Laube family, as Cherish’s founder, Professor Andreas Obermair, treated Linda. While the lunch tickets are sold out, you can still show your support through a donation.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Laube family for their generous support of Cherish Women’s Cancer Foundation in honour of Linda. Your support helps us continue our mission to advance research and improve care for women facing gynaecological cancer. Thank you for making a difference in her memory.
